Use more than a hundred of VirtualDub filters allowing you to do everything you want with your video: deinterlacing, denoising, deblocking, color correction, deshaking, sharpening, visual effects etc. On multiprocessor systems, dual core or hyperthreading CPUs works a lot faster than VirtualDub because all filters, decoders and coders work in separate threads simultaneously.
3. Open any video which can be played on your system and
re-compress
it with any video codec (DirectShow, DMO and Video for Windows) installed in your system.
With Video Enhancer you can do all these tasks together or just some of them.
1. Video Super Resolution
Video Enhancer can convert your video to any resolution with superb quality. Super Resolution is a technique of increasing images or video resolution. For each processed frame it uses information not only from this frame but also from other frames. If picture in your video doesn\'t change too fast, then information from several frames can be added to create a picture of a bigger size. No algorithms of ordinary image resize/resample can provide this quality just because there\'s not enough information in one frame. Here is a couple of examples:

2. Hundred of filters for video editing
You might be familiar with VirtualDub - a very powerful video editing application. What makes it so powerful is its video filters. There is more than a hundred filters for VirtualDub, you can do absolutely anything with your video with these filters, possibilities are limitless. But VirtualDub reads only AVI files and works only with Video for Windows codecs.
Video Enhancer allows you to use most of the VirtualDub filters (90% now) combining with power to open any video file (AVI, WMV, MPEG, RM, MOV - see documentation for details) and use any video codec either Video for Windows and DirectShow.
Unlike VirtualDub, in Video Enhancer all filters, coders and decoders work simultaneously in separate threads. For example, if you process your video with two filters, then at the time coder compresses the first frame second filter is already processing second frame, first filter is processing third frame and decoder decompresses fourth frame. Simple test with processing DV video with 3 filters and compressing it with XviD showed
1.9 times higher speed
than VirtualDub on Dual Core AMD Opteron.
In Video Enhancer you can create chains with any number of VirtualDub and Super Resolution filters. It means you can filter your video before resizing, after resizing, between or even instead.
3. Convert your video
After you\'ve decided what to do with your video, you can choose any video codec to compress your output video to reduce the output file size. Video Enhancer lets you use not only VfW codecs (like VirtualDub) but also DirectShow and DMO ones, i.e. any video codecs.

This is a easy-to-use automatic installer of 20 plugins for VirtualDub and Video Enhancer. To use filters from this pack you need at least one of these programs installed.
Below is the list of filters in this pack. Go to filter\'s page to get its source code (if available).
Denoising:
* 2D Cleaner - Averages pixels in a configurable radius around a source pixel that are within a configurable threshold of the central pixel. This has the effect of blending low-level video noise while retaining sharp details.
* Dynamic Noise Reduction - Reduces changes across frames by eliminating dynamic noise without blurring. This helps MPEG compression without damaging image quality.
* fxVHS - The original VHS filter. Noise reduction & sharpening functions.
* Smart Smoother - Performs structure-preserving smoothing (blurring). It is ideal for removing video noise as well as MPG/JPG blocking artifacts.
Deinterlacing:
* Asvzzz deinterlace - Deinterlaces moving areas.
* Deinterlace \"Muksun\" - High performance deinterlacing filter.
* Deinterlace - area based - Deinterlaces the frames only where it\'s needed by simply looking for interlace lines in each frame individually. When it detects interlace lines, it removes them using either blending or interpolation depending on your settings.
* Smart Deinterlacer - Provides a smart, motion-based deinterlacing capability. In static picture areas, interlacing artifacts do not appear, so data from both fields is used to provide full detail. In moving areas, deinterlacing is performed.
Color correction:
* Automatic correction of white balance - Automatic correction of white balance, also some temporal denoising.
* Image processing plugin - Supported Effects: Adjust Saturation, Blur, Blur More, Expand Constast, Find Edge, Gental Sharpen, Histo Brighten, Histo Linearize, Majority Filter, Median Filter, Mosiac Effect, Negtive Image, Posterize, Sharpen, Sketch Effect.
* RGB Equalizer - Adaptable equalizer. A small add-on for playing around color (R,G,B), brightness, saturation, hue, sharpness or smoothness.
Visual effects:
* MSU Cartoonizer - Designed for painting, drawing and animated cartoon rendering. Converts movies into cartoons!
* MSU OldCinema Filter - Intended to achieve an \"Old cinema \" effect, film aging: color scale adjustment and also a set of artifacts to achieve a better realism and to give it a \"chronicle\" view.
Sharpening:
* MSU Smart Sharpen - Allows to enhance image sharpness with minimum noise amplification.
* Xsharpen - Performs a subtle but useful sharpening effect.
Other:
* Border Control - Designed to allow you to manipulate the regions at the top, bottom and sides of a frame.
* Logoaway - Created to remove logos from video sequence. Logo is a small sign usually put in one of the corners. Logos usualy destroy quality of encoded video stream.
* MSU Smart Deblocking - Intended for recovering quality of video ripped from DVD (for example, when it contains 4 hours of video data), VideoCD, shot on cameraphone or after decompressing by H.261, H.263, DivX 3, DivX 4, XviD.
* UnViewFields - All this does is refold the fields back to normal after a ViewFields operation.
* ViewFields - This filter is nearly identical to the unfold fields option within VirtualDub\'s built-in deinterlace filter except that it re-arranges the top field on the top and the bottom field on the bottom of a frame.
